Replacement 10.25" screen, with built-in Android!

Hi guys,

Got round to fitting my 10.25" Android into the bus yesterday.

Was reasonably straightforward. Plenty of YouTube help available.

My E70 had no USB or Bluetooth audio, so this kills 2 birds
The screen looks amazing!


It can operate in "pass through"  So you can use your built-in CCC or CIC system whenever you want.

All good, apart from the supplied GPS antenna is blocked by  my Comfort windscreen I will look into using the BMW antenna soon.

I had the same issue with GPS on my E53 and fitted a small antenna up beside the mirror - do the system allow for an external connection?

The E53 had a 'window' either side of the mirror and bottom centre of the windscreen where the filter was absent so that little GPS aerial could be fitted.

I used something similar to this with the same SMA aerial connector....

It comes with one of those antennas. Never thought to test it right up there!
Routing the cable up there would be fun I imagine!

Check if the screen has the small cutout area first!

I have been able to run wires to the dashcam behind the A-pillar trim just by pushing it into place with a trim tool - spoon handle does the job too - and behind the headlining without removing anything.

I have gone around the edge of the dash on the passenger side and then found routes in behind the glovebox or above the footwell top carpet trimming.

MP3 and Spotify good.
Bluetooth a bit muffled. Haven't really played with the settings much yet.

Thanks for the reply, I am about to do the same through Avin.  Could you confirm that the FM and the DAB work in the UK?  Are there any negatives so far?

FM just passes through from your original unit. Do mean DAB as an optional extra from AVIN? If so check to see how it works. As they selling DVB-T sticks and using some poor excuse of an App on store! The DAB extra wasn't available when I got mine... Be interested to know.

Negatives:
Slow to start. But not unbearable.
The default launcher is very rigid and won't let you change the default music app or add your own Apps to the  carousel.
Sound quality isn't quite as good as the factory sound. But passable.
