I always thought myself as quite a hands on kind of guy, and can normally do things by having a good look first, having swapped engines and restored cars in my past. however, getting the kidney grills out of my e83 x3 has me stumped. Searched here, looked for how to vids online and can not find anything. The car is fitted with the factory aerodynamic pack, and i can not seem to access the clips from behind from anywhere.... Any tips?
Thanks.

Kidney grills.
Re: Kidney grills.
Got this from another forum.
"There are about 6 spring clips on each grille which you can compress with your fingers and then push from the inside out. Unfortunately on teh E83 you have to loosen a few of the hex screws on the top cross member to gain access."

Re: Kidney grills.
Thanks for that. I thought that was the case when I was rooting about under the bonnet, trying to figure it out. Don't think my hex bolts have been undone since the car was built. Even with a soaking with wd the only one that I could get to move felt like it was about to sheer off.....

Would it be possible to use some kind of tool to release the clips from the front? Something like a needle-nose pliers?
