BMW E53 4.8is Buying Advise

Post by Jag530isport » Fri Aug 11, 2017 6:54 am

Hi guys

I'm looking at buying another 4.8is use to have one a couple of years ago. I have the following questions:

What is one worth which has below 60k on the clock?
Did they ever do a 4.8is as an exclusive edition I thought the exclusive only came in a late diesel?
Do you think they are a good investment for the future?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Jag

Tidy examples wanting for little sub 60k miles ypically from £8k...this based on me studying  classifieds for years and speaking to various òwners/sellers. I came.close to buying a 4.8is earlier this year 2 owner, 59k fbmwsh, extendable bmw mondial warranty. Mature owner £7250 if I recall correctly ...Rare find.

Exclusive and Sport Exclusives were not available on 4.8is

I would buy to enjoy .....not as an investment. If you find a car with under 50k miles, price may be 20% or more over cars with say 70-90k but it will drop value if you take it over say 60k. Asking prices and real condition q for seemingly similar cars can vary quite widely. Not as rare as 4.6is.

Was it this one you were talking about by any chance?

Came up on my search for a 4.4/4.8 too.

Not sure if you are talking to me or OP but the car I was looking at was far cheaper

The OP as no doubt the car you were looking at is long gone if it was months ago :)

Yes that's the one he's sold it now but as much as it was a very nice car by the sounds of it I felt it was overpriced.  I've had a 4.8is a couple of years ago which was in Estoril blue and was mag featured in BMW Car Mag a couple of years ago.  I just thought I would have been looking at the £8k mark
