Hello and :hi: aboard.... :)

The F15 is a heavy car to use a 2.0L engine and you will very likely have to work it quite hard to get the best from it.  That is going to affect fuel economy (which will be ~30% below what BMW state as 'official') which may be pause for thought.

The 2.0L engine is a good unit but my own personal suggestion would be to try both this version and the standard 3.0D as well.  All of the in-line 6-cyl engines are 3.0D regardless of the numbers used (40D and M50D just have more turbos) so even if you don't decide on a 40D you will, I suspect, find the 6-cyl unit easier to live with and to be more drivable in the real world.

I completely agree with X5Sport. The BMW 6 cyl 3.0D engine is a superb unit, whichever guise you choose. They have a good torque spread and if you go for the 2.0D engine you WILL regret it afterwards.
The 3.0D is such a smooth and quiet unit and a pleasure to drive. They are virtually 'unbreakable' provided they are looked after.
Suggest you test drive both and you will find fuel consumption between the two is about the same. I have a 2015 F15 3.0D M sport and consistently get between 33 and 35Mpg driving reasonably quickly but not thrashing it. Also it doesn't seem to affect the Mpg whether in Comfort or Sport setting. In sport setting however it certainly sharpens up the experience.
Just a point, I think that 2.0D versions do not have the M Sport adaptive suspension, which is a big bonus, as standard, only the 3.0D M Sport versions and there are plenty to choose from. Happy hunting  :)

Thanks for the response guys it was mainly down to fuel consumption that was scaring me off the 3.0d.
I'll have a look for a nice 3.0d and get back to you guys on how it goes is there anything major to look out for our other then decent history
