New car and problems already - DVD player remote

Post by davrostavros » Thu Jul 20, 2017 1:16 am

Picked up my car today and have started to notice a few problems already.

The offside rear window doesn't move and after getting back from football tonight the front wouldn't go up so I spent an hour plus taking the door card off and pushing the window up, the motor seems to work but not with enough power. I'm kicking myself that I didn't check this out, it's something I always do. Putting the door card back on I was unable to fix the indoor door release handle.

Also, I can't  work out how to switch the DVD player on. It's a Panasonic Cx-dv1500euc. He showed me the headrest screens coming on but I for the life of me can't work it out and can't find the remote. I wonder if it somewhere in the car. Just in case does anyone know where I might be able to pick one of these up?

Sorry for the rush of questions. I've booked a mechanic online to fix the windows and pixelation, hopefully not too bad.

Thanks in advance

Hi congrats on the car and if looking for the remote check all the cubbyholes in the front and back of seats.

Re the how to turn it on try this link for the manuals for the Panasonic unit
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/19193 ... v1500.html

Re the window the runner could need lubricating if as you say down on power then check the connnections and us a multimeter to check you are getting power there.

I think there is a how to on the window and door handle release as that is a fairly common prob.
Hope that helps.

Re the pexelation.
1. There are how to's re the sat nav head overhaul.
2. re head units, there are how to's and names of people who can repair them, (is it in the instrument pod?).or Ebay
3. Some members have installed different head units, RAJ did a comprehensive write up fitting a double din system, plus other members.
If you look at the bottom of my page you will see list of mods I have done, will give you some ideas hopefully, also check out Sanj

Good luck.

I found the remote control but there doesn't seem to be any power going into the system. The DVD player doesn't seem to have any and neither does the headrest monitors. The monitors definitely work as I saw them on when I went to see the car so I'm assuming it's something that I'm doing wrong

Maybe trace the wiring and find a fuse? It sounds aftermarket , not oem, so may have a piggyback fuse which has blown?    There are going to be electrical issues /dodgy electronics at some stage on a 17yr old high mileage, multi-owner vehicle...........
