New Owner - E70 LCI 30d

Post by R99 » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:08 pm

Hi all,

In the morning I'll be making the drive down to the dealer to pick up my new (to me) X5!

I'm coming from a 325d E91 which has been great to me over the last two years, but due to an expanding family, and all the associated clobber that comes with it - I need more space!

The X5 is under the AUC scheme and I've scored for a full set of new tyres and also a full set of discs and pads  :))

Spec is nice too, ticked most of my options!

Professional navigation
High gloss shadowline exterior trim
DSP Hi-Fi professional loudspeaker system
DAB
Bluetooth
Heated front seats
Connected drive
Sun protection glass
Climate comfort windscreen
USB
20" 333M's
Folding exterior mirrors with anti-dazzle
Panoramic sunroof
Windscreen with grey shade band
Rear sliding blinds

Hi

Congrats on you new X5, it looks like you have got a good spec on it plus getting new tyres and brake discs and pads will help with the running costs for a while, a good result.

Congratulations on the purchase, car looks fantastic.... you wont be disappointed! Is it the 30d or 40d?

I think my next car will be an AUC based on the years warranty you get with it for piece of mind.

Enjoy!

Hi
Congrats on your new purchase. Looks stunning, love the wheels.
You've obviously done your research, and it should pay you dividends for the future. Mine came with new discs, pads & tyres in march 2014.
I am now into year 3 with a 60 plate @ 72k now. I had AUC for the first 2 years, and now use indi servicing. Front discs & pads this year (£220 indi), tyres still at 5 mil :o other than that nothing spent in 3 years :)

Superb quality at mondeo running costs :))

Thanks everyone!

Picked it up, and on the whole - I love it!

Major result with the new tyres & brakes, so I should be set for quite a while with those...

There are a few issues that I'm not too chuffed about, and it doesn't help that I have serious car OCD, but what are your thoughts on these issues - should they be rectified at the dealers cost given it's an AUC car??

Front Door Cards:
- drivers front is loose
- passenger front is loose & tweeter housing is loose

Air Vents:
- passenger front (directional tab missing)
- rear vents (directional tabs missing)

Shadowline Exterior Trim:
- passenger rear door burned through paint
- passenger front door trim is mis-aligned & lifted

I would immediately contact the dealership and advise them of the problems -longer you wait, more likely they are to fob you off. AUC covers everything but not things like trim, rust, paintowrk etc so if there are flaws or faults now is the time to tell them - if fact, before you drove it away would have been better!  The AUC checks are sometimes shoddy, but stick to your guns and insist that major issues are corrected - loose trim, door cards etc is just unacceptable.

I am really annoyed with myself for not noticing them, but I think some of my new car excitement probably gave me rose tinted spectacles  :))

I sent an email today, but no response! Phone call to be made tomorrow I think!

I know it's a 6 year old car, and that some wear and tear has to be expected, but I personally think they should be happy to rectify the above issues.

Hopefully it will all get resolved.

Loose door panels etc def not wear and tear.........needs to be rectified. Car in main dealer network still and meant to have had "over 200 checks" .  Yeah, right - they missed these, so they need to sort it!
