All 07 plate and some 57 plate X5 3.0 d's are £500, some 57 plate are £280 ish.
They lowered the emissions to bring the tax down CO2's
Type the reg into " is this car taxed.gov site and it will tell you what band it is in, nearly all 08 plate cars are £280.
But. Heck before you buy

Sounds like a late 2007 build on a 2008 registration plate - hence getting clobbered.  That is what drove BMW to bring revised engines in to get the emissions down.

The car may have sat with a Dealer for a few months before getting registered.
