E70 Ambient lightning

Post by BSJ_Denmark » Wed Jun 28, 2017 10:04 am

Hello

Just godt my 2012 xDrive 40d and found the ambient lightning in the door pockets very weak. A search on the internet confirmed that this is how it is intended !?

I have ordered some brighter diodes in the exact same color, and been experimenting with resistors to get the right ilumination

Now I have found the wanted level of light and are just waiting for the sun to disappear :-)

More pictures to come :-)

Great work, please share your findings
This was one of my first observations, I played with options though clearly with not enough passion
Would love to brighten up in time for Autumn

Hi

I found some 11.0000 MCD diodes on Ebay.de and connected them via a 470ohm resistors it makes the perfect discret light

Hi

Any reason not to use 12v LEDs, rather than having to wire in a resistor for lower voltage ones?

Thanks

A 12V LED will simply have resistors in line anyway.

Thanks

Do the replacement LEDs simply snap into the holder that connects to the plastic strip?
