Hello all - My 08 3.0 sd E70 has a noisy wheel bearing, probably front. My friendly local indy garage guy has had a drive and each wheel off the ground but he cannot at this point diagnose which beating is bad. He suggests running the car until it becomes obvious which bearing is the culprit.
I've looked online and bearing prices vary enormously; a front can he had for anything between £45 and £180. If the cost were at the bottom end of the range I'd order two and get them shipped here to France and get both fronts done without waiting for the noise to get worse.
So question please: are the cheaper bearings Inferior? If money were no object, to put it another way, whose bearings are best?
Thanks in advance!

E70 Wheel Bearing
Re: E70 Wheel Bearing
If they are manufactured by a recognised maker, then I'd go for the cheaper ones. If not, I'd spend a bit more.
Re: E70 Wheel Bearing
The more expensive ones include a new hub as well as the bearing itself.

Re: E70 Wheel Bearing
Thanks for the replies; the car is doing zilch miles at present so still no diagnosis
