Differing handover standards

Post by allforus » Sat Jun 10, 2017 8:10 am

It's amazing that some people paying £60k plus for a car don't even notice scratches in the paint work and even scratches in the dash trim
Witnessed a hand over today with just that, sorry but it would have been walk away for me

My X6 had a bad paint job on it at delivery too.  Tother half spotted them as she had a lower viewing angle than I did.  We took delivery and the car went into their bodyshop a couple of days later and was fully polished and part sprayed to fix it.

The paint respray needed on the bonnet was due to an incontinent seagull and was was done beautifully.  The BMW delivery centre had done a very poor job!  Shade is spot on and the only way it shows up is under IR light on a CCTV night camera which can see the change in the lacquer clearcoat.

I was very disappointed that BMWs much vaunted 'ostrich feather' line could produce so many pimples in the base coat due to dust.  Dealer was brilliant though.
