lighting faults
Re: lighting faults
Given if you DIY you still need to get it coded then it gets the whole job done in one hit

Re: lighting faults
Hi guys update on what was thought to be a battery issue, seems my battery is still pretty good and the fault was the FRM module, all my lights are now ok but I am over £600 lighter,I also seem to still have a handbrake fault
,handbrake sticks on and has to be released manually or will sometimes free eventually by switching ignition on and off, have been told this is not another module fault but that it is a K fault :'(,apparently needs a lot of further investigation, being suggested it may be something to do with the towbar wiring :'( Looks like I better get plenty overtime in

I think it's called the footwell module, it controls all the lights and electric windows I think.
They are a bit fragile on the E70 and also the E9# series.
Have a read on the internet to see if it shows similar symptoms.
Try the Hazard lights.
Try a batter disconnect reset.
Maybe suspect battery, do you get the battery low voltage warning on the IDrive at all.?

This is the article I had read, that's why I suspected it was the footwell module (FRM )
Ommon failure on the 3 series and E70. BMW are aware it's a crap piece of kit.

Re: lighting faults
Hopefully the replacement one is better than the original, dreading the handbrake bill next

Re: lighting faults
in June last year I paid £148 including VAT for an identical BMW replacement battery on a 2007 E70 , fitted and coded by the BMW main dealer in Stockton on Tees. In comparison, your quote seems high though the battery from Germany will have increased in price as the pound has fallen against the euro.
Re: lighting faults
Apparently my battery still has plenty life in it,it was the frm module I was referring to when I said hope the replacement one is better than the original.
