Well time has come when I have to let my lovely BMW E70 X5 go to a new home.
Below is the description of the car, its options and work that has been done in my ownership

Owned since 2013, during my ownership it has been looked after by BMW Blackpool main dealer, Lewis Motors and Autotecnik (latter both BMW independent specialists). Oil and filter services have been completed every 10000 miles.

Over and above regular servicing the following has been undertaken (receipts available):

Brake discs and pads all round, including sensors
Replaced gearbox oil,
ALL glow plugs replaced including the glow plug controller
Swirl flaps removed and blanked off
New engine, and egr thermostats
A/C condenser replaced and recharged
New battery incl coding to the car
Both rear inner tailgate lights replaced
New auxiliary belt and pully
New front lower track control arms
4 wheel alignment
New rear air bag suspension [springs] and recalibrate ride height
New parking brake switch
New pollen filters
New fuel filter
New air filters

The car has previously been detailed by a local paint detailing company. There are no marks or scuffs on the leather seats, and all are lovely and clean.

The car also has a "Tracker" unit fitted which can be transfered into your name.

As you can see in the photobucket pics, of the idrive, the car wont need any service items for a good 12 months.

Only reason for the sale, is I have upgraded to a X5 40D.

Well folk are going to look at a new ad when it is posted. They don't know what they will see, or if it is what they re looking for, or if they like the price,  and so on. They have to view the ad before they can see the price. Some folk are just nosey, some are bored, some are time wasters and tyre kickers, and some like me read all the ads on the forum just to know what's out there and keep any eye on prices.

Despite the improvements in engineering over the years I still think some people still have some sort of mental block about the 100k mileage mark.  Maybe that's why?

I know today's engines are good for much more but still people have a problem. I work for a main dealer(not BMW unfortunately) and I know that many of our px cars go to our px/non franchised site but many nice cars don't as they have 100k and customers just seem to have a problem with them.

hi the car looks great , problem is everyone wants everything for nothing these days !
Have you tried Auto trader , Ebay , Gumtree ? I would advise to put it in the local paper , put it back up to the original price and just wait , unfortunately desperation is the only thing people think when something is constantly reduced .

Ive tried all the places apart from Gumtree, and the local rag.
Ive had lots of Ebay idiots offering me peanuts for the car, but no serious enquiries....
Im actually amazed as i thought GOOD E70 Xdrive 35d,s were in demand... How wrong was I....
The car is still available, and im sure the first genuine person to view the car will drive it home...

Hi just like us with our caravan, hafwits offering less than half and want it delivered to to other side of the country for free. One offered us 2k now and pay the rest over 6 months. They wanted to take it and use over the summer and leave a photocopy of driving licence and passport. Next door neigh ours mate is a car dealer which offers to buy cars 3k under book and sell them 2k over book. Try webuyanycar for a figure that will proberbly be achievable or save to the winter shod it with winter boots and increase the price. If it had been a 2010 model on I would have snapped your arm off. Goodluck

[/quote] The trouble with selling a car privately for over even £5K is that most people have a PX and havnt got readily available  cash in the bank, and it's probably a lot easier to arrange credit through a dealer than doing it it  for a personal sale.
Also PCP is so attractive and the done thing for the younger generation.

Yes.  You can pay a 'balloon' figure at the end and make it yours, or (if any value in the car above the final figure) put towards the next one, or give it back and walk away.

Well I can finally update the advert with a S O L D sign on it...
Its gone to its new home today....
THE first person that actually took the time to come and look at it bought it... [ which I knew would happen],, it REALLY was that good.
