Heated seats

Post by b21playa » Tue May 16, 2017 11:27 am

Hi all

Picked up a 2008 x5 3.0sd msport yesterday and noticed in the i-drive setting for climate, there is no adjustment for the heated seats. In my e60 I was able to control where the heat would be concentrated (backrest or base)

Does anyone else have this function in their e70?

Thanks in advance

I can confirm I have an option on my idrive for this

I think you can direct whether heat on back or bottom?

Do you have a full screen idrive?

Yes have full screen. Weird I don't have the option though.

Wondering if the ccc was replaced and not coded correctly for full options

I also had the same query. I went (indirectly) from a E61 550i to the E70. I loved that feature in the E61 (enjoy a heated back, but not bum) but I don't have that option even in my 2011 facelift 30d.

I figured it was because I went from the top of the range model to the bottom.

I read somewhere earlier on that from 2010 BMW dropped this feature from
Standard seats and was only available with comfort seats.

Thing is mine is a 2008. If the weather is decent I'm going to check coding on the ccc to make sure it has right vin and options, and then get the software updated at some point

I have a 2007 E70 3.0d registered in 2008. it has sport seats but not the comfort option. The heated seat control switch at each end of the row under the sat-nav screen controls each front seat independently with 3 heat settings for the seat itself but not the back - 3 green lights, 2 , 1 and off. The rear seats are not heated.  Idrive pushed to the left doesn't control the heated seats but it does control the air flows, extent cold air from outside is let in, and direction.  I usually have mine set on auto and minimum fan speed, with cold air coming in during the summer(when ??) and warm air feeding the blowers the rest of  the time.  I use air-con once the outside temp reaches 16, which here in the north east isn't very often!

Hope this helps,
Graeme

My E60 had the heated back or bum option too, but it had comfort seats, so just thought it was a comfort seat option.
