Need new rear air suspension bags - Arnott or Aerosus?

Post by acarty » Tue May 09, 2017 2:11 pm

Hi All,

I have the usual `rear corner lowered` suspect of a leaking rear bag on my 59 X5 M Sport and I am looking at replacing the pair. I have had a look on the forums but there seems to be mixed reviews on the arnott and aerosus bags, the arnott being £360 for the pair and the aerosus just £180.

Just wondering if anyone on here has had any experience of either and what to go for?

Cheers,
Andy.

Thanks all for the replies...did you have to recalibrate the ride height after replacing them?

The arnott sounds good but I cant find them for less than £360 with the current 30% discount code...do you have the ECP link for them russ? when I search for my car it says nothing listed for air suspension.

If I cant find them cheaper, the aerosus seem like a good alternative for a good price? Staying away from the £80 ebay bags!

I fitted Arnotts a couple of years back, I didn't at the time have the BMW software to let the air out so I just made a very small hole in the old bags and just let it drain out.
After fitting just started the car and let it self level itself.

advised to get re calibrated after fitting but can get away without.

Thanks all, I have been quoted £360 for a pair of Arnotts from ECP which seems OK, will go and pick them up today and have a go at the weekend! May do a DIY on this as I guess it will be a more common issue as the E70's get older.

Thanks Russ, tried it and it only brings it down to £380 (30% off), im sure they just apply these discounts to bring the price down to a normal price you would pay anyway!
