Electric Windows

Post by jam60 » Fri May 05, 2017 1:06 pm

Hi, My electric windows have stopped working with the main switch and all the other switches with the exception of the n/s/f door  window switch have also stopped working.Oddly if you keep the remote pressed to open/close the windows this does work on all the windows???? Is it the main door switch if so how come the n/s/f switch still works and the rest don't???The mirror switch works as it should. Or is there a "secret squirrel" button somewhere?
Thanks in advance

All the other windows except the NSF probably go through the main switch as there is a lockout for the rear windows in the main switch,

Hmm interesting that, have notice whatever position the (lockout) button is in it doesn't illuminate? But out of curiosity thought that when engaged it only stopped the rears from operating?

The fact it is not illuminating shows there could be a problem with the main switch. The signal to open the rear windows must be tied in with the main switch.
There have been reports previously of failed master switches as people have struggled to get ones of EBay that have the folding mirror button option.
Try the search button on the forum to see if you can dig up previous posts on the subject.

I removed master door switch, inspected all connect ions & refitted said switch...  Still the same.
I removed all associated fuses, inspected & refitted. Hey presto everything working :)
