Do they fit straight on ? What does it drive like with 22s

Which Range Rover?  Old p38, L322, new?  Check offsets.  Seem to remember the old RR P38 18's fittted directly. There were never any 22" OEM RR wheels from that era, so they are likely aftermarket.  Think an E53 on 22's must be dire,  20" are bad enough!

Think pcd may match depending on years and models etc, but think the offset may well be different by a chunk, again depends on modals and years involved. Would need more details to check for sure.

Ride on 22 will be harsher as you'd need a very low profile tyre, if they make the size that would be needed.

Think il go for 20s then they are of a 2006 range rover sport

I had 22" on my 4.6is that I had, I didn't mind the ride at all.

I only sold it a couple of weeks ago however I am regretting it already  :'(

22"s have never been an OEM /official BMW size for X5s, or for Range Rovers AFAIK - tyres are not easy to find and are mega expensive.  While my current E70 has OEM BMW 21" wheels, the ride is a LOT smoother and more refined than the E53 (we have one of each at home) so the larger wheels are ok.  The E53 with 20" wheels (its a 4.8is) is quite a harsh ride, actually, even with all round air suspension as the 4.8is has.

But its very personal, really. Some like huge wheels others find the ride quality awful.  One thing no one can argue about though, is the price of tyres - if indeed you can actually find some as the choice will be really limited. And much more expensive than 18, 19 or 20" wheels.

Our old Cayenne came with 22" on it but with a spare set of original wheels. When I swapped them over the car drove so much better. I would say leave the correct wheels on that the manufacturer put on...
Incidentally,  had wheel spacers on my X5 and in an effort to eliminate steering shake I took them off. Now it drives properly with less crashing and banging over bumps..

I have the 20'' wheels on my E53 X5 but these are the factory fitted ones as its the Le-Mans spec,must admit i do like the look of them but the ride is a little harsh but have got use too it,have seen some 22' on both the X5 and RR models but buying a complete set new is crazy in my opinion just for the looks alone,although the tyres are only 2'' larger the price dont go up by only a small amount.

If you have deep pockets and want too make it look like a 'Pimp mobile' or 'Drug Baron' or it makes you generally happy ?? then go for it,the bottom line i guess is enjoy driving it and making it personal.

What ever option you choose i wish you luck.

Ive often wondered about using similar to Landrover Off-roaders,
16" rims with a huge wall of rubber & massave wide tread...
My reasoning is, where I drive a lot in some parts of the West Midlands, there are so many potholes & crap roads, tgat these chonking great tyres that prevent bent rims...

the bit I find interesting, is that even with 20" rims looking cool, the tyre diameter is almost the same... so we have a 4x4 vehicle .. then we tame it down with tiny low walled tyres that cannot scale a kerb without destroying the rims, if not careful...
I dont get it..... whats the point ?
If you want a race car handling, then get a Porsche... maybe...

Low profile tyres were first used I believe so that a bigger wheel was possible to incorporate larger brake discs and calipers, as pointed out in the above post.
The 4.6 and 4.8 can go to a minimum of 18" as they have bigger brakes, the 3.0's can go to a min 17" as they have standard brakes.

Shame you cant get a decent tyre wall height for these flashy looking rims...
So..... you pay a bundle for flashy rims, then put skinny tyres on the rims that attract every pot hole in the district...

With the smaller rims, you can put massive tyres on a 4x4...
are there decent tyres available for these 20" rims - by decent I mean PROPER tyres that are good for off roading, plugging mud & digging thru snow, or just skinny tyres ??
