1st time X5 owner but not 1st 4x4,but what a fantastic motor....

Post by RickUK » Fri Mar 31, 2017 6:18 pm

Just a quick introduction, from my user name its not hard too work out that i am Rick  :) and based just north of London, have had some form of 4x4 motors for many many years from LWB LR series 2,Izuzu Trooper 2.8 turbo 18 years, and in recent years a Vitara lwb V6 which died on me a few weeks back.

Enter the next stage of my 4x4 adventure a stunning 56 plate BMW X5 3ltr diesel in Monaco blue with the humongous wheels on with the 315 tyres on the rear rims.

Had the X5 for 3 weeks and this motor has just blown me away how refined it is,its in stunning condition and not a single mark on it,i will get some pictures  :camera: up over the weekend.I have never had a car that turns so many heads as i drive along,i feel like king of the road driving it.

Like most other X5 that i have seen this one is also fully loaded but one thing i does not have and i will get fitted is a SatNav,must admit i dont fancy sticking a old TomTom on the windscreen when i possibly could get a proper fitted one,as yet not worked out the best option or even if its possible to get one installed in the dash, dont really want too do away with the factory fitted stereo radio/cd player etc,but we will find a way around it.

Hope to input my experiences driving the new X5,and possibly asking for some help/advice as and when i require it.

You need to load them to another location and link to them.  Site owners choice...

Or use the little icon when replying (it's below the text entry box) to Tinypic

Had a very slow puncture in one of the new 325 rear tyres over the weekend,so phones the local tyre place and it normally would cost £15 too repair, how ever they mention was it one of these run flat version tyres, not sure so they suggested bringing over and for them to have a look at.It transpire that these special tyres cannot be repaired for what ever reason.

So it was either going to be the cheaper option £15 or a new tyre, after walking around the local shops while they looked at it,came back and was presented a bill for £15 so was very pleased with that result.

Also showed that the low tyre pressure facility worked as well, must admit this is the 1st car that has had all these safety features on  ;)
