WANTED - 21" Alpina alloys
Re: WANTED - 21" Alpina alloys
hi set on ebay at the moment were £1800 last week now £1000 starting bid ! they are advertised with 275/35/21 fronts which should be 285/35/21 ( might help to keep price down ) 325/30/21 rears .
Unfortunately a set of tyres for these are £1500 so might be better off buying some new shape 21" , has your car got the extended arches as you will need them & most of the genuine kits from BMW have all gone ?

Have you had Alpina alloys before ?
I only ask as I have on my E39. I am not trying to put you off and suggest you do some research yourself , but I found them to be very very soft alloy and bend far too easily . Also the inflation valve is inside the centre cap and are stainless steel and being much harder than the soft alloy.............. has a habit of stripping the threads and then you have a big problem. My advice is if buying second hand check them very very carefully.
I am not trying to put you off, just pass on my own experience.
Good luck
Nat.

Thanks for the heads up, was watching that listing but £1800? Just seemed a little overpriced for something thats been sprayed the wrong color? And also think it was a good 150 miles away.

Thats fine Bud, im open to opinions amd advice. Iv never had alpina alloys before but i did have azev (star style/deepdish rears) a WHILE back on a vauxhall, and as much as i loved them, towards the end was fed up of them as they kept getting buckled/damaged or random hairline cracks appeared on them. Are you having similar issues with yours?

Re: WANTED - 21" Alpina alloys
I had them on my E39 and in the end I got rid of them . If you have Tyre pressure monitor it will be forever going off. They are just too soft and the valves can cause a problem when it comes to making a tight seal.
Not trying to put you off, just making sure you look very carefully when you buy .
