After reading about the gearbox/transfer box failings on the E70,s of late, [2011 ish dates] im just wondering what the symptoms of a failing box are.?
What does a bad box feel like when its on its way out.?

Slightly off topic but now I have BMW ISTA D software I have found out our 08 E70 has the fault code for worn transfer case oil (comes up as VTG oil wear), my C110 scanner didn't show it.
I hope to change the oil tomorrow and then you can select you have changed the oil on ISTA.

Symptoms are normally jerky drive on full lock or odd rumbling noises from the front/rear diffs and or transfer box.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
