E53 pdc detection range

Post by Alan Gunn » Wed Mar 15, 2017 12:20 pm

Finally got my rear parking sensors working but they don't beep until i get what i think is a bit close.
My E46 starts to beep around 8 to 10ft from the object but the E53 starts at about 5ft.
Is there any way of adjusting them ?.
I have pa soft 1.4.0 and inpa but not very confident with that.
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Thanks in advance.

I remember my E53 not having a great range....less than 2 metres and the X6 is about the same.

in the v1.4.0 i saw in the boxes the distances that looked alterable    . i dont know if the factory settings in there were correct at 30cm for the front and i think it was 35cm for the rear

Thanks for the reply.
I have set that setting but that is for when you get as close to the object and the beep becomes continuous (both my cars are at 25cm).
It's the setting for the distance when they start to beep that seems a bit close if you get what i mean.

I would try altering the setting by increasing the constant figure, this may increase the range .
Also as they are quiet slow to react 25 cm is maybe a little tight.
2011 Kia Sorento KX3  2.2D 60 Plate Auto in black ( mine )

Now Sold 55 plate, X5, 3.0 D Sport. Silv
