CIC DVD No voices

Having a little problem with playing DVDs.
Pro Nav & Pro Sound.
I get the DVD menus and in the clips there are voices. However, in the film, I can hear the background music/effects, but no voices.
I've tried this with surround on and off.
It's not a massive issue, but if it's installed I like it to work.

Only time I have come across this is with multi lingual discs where the system needs to pick up the correct language, or on non-UK discs.  Check the options settings for DVD playback on the iDrive.

Problem solved.
The DVD was a DTS surround sound version that was obviously not compatible with the BMW system.
I put in a 2 channel DVD and it works fine.
Downside is, I can't watch Guest House Paradiso while the missus has her hair done.

That's weird!  I thought all DVDs had a stereo track by default, as well as a digital audio track for surround systems.  The system selects the appropriate track automatically - or should.  Puzzled  ???
