fitting heated steering wheel

Tools Required:
Phillips & Flat head screwdriver, Torx T-20, Torx T-27 for glove box, 16mm socket & Torque wrench with 6” extension for the steering wheel

PARTS REQ

HEATED STEERING WHEEL----P/N ----323-067-688-33
STEERING COLUMN SWITCH---P/N-----613-183-790-91
RELAY---P/N----61-368-373-700 ---for behind the glovebox

thanks sanj for the help you were right already prewired

you need to fit a relay behind the glovebox about 1/2hrs work as means removing the full glovebox and then the fuse box which sits in there if you check fuse 29 and make sure there is a 10amp fuse there this means the car is pre-wired which saves a lot of time there is a small red 3 pin plug taped onto the loom under the top steering column cover if your car is prewired this connects into ypur new column switch.if the car is not prewired it can still be done but you will have to tap into a switched power supply such as the cigarette lighter and run a separate cable to the connector behind the column switch

BEWARE REMOVAL OF THE AIR BAG MUST BE DONE WITH THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION OR YOUR AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON and you will need a code reader to remove the light ,fitting of the column switch is easy just remember to connect your extra red lead ,then off with the old wheel then on with the new remember to mark your wheel so when you fit the new one on its in the correct postion nothing worse than a wheel off centre

i am impressed how hot the wheel gets it only takes a matter of seconds to heat up am well happy

Did you go to the ford show at silverstone last sunday ? went with a friend who also loves his fords, see some fantastic looking cars
including a 206 mph sapphire cosworth.

didnt make the ford fair was working but my mates went down (andrew gallacher motor sports)they were on the track with the lime green escort cosworth (same engine as my mkii 640bhp) he said it went well
i had the mk2 on knockhill last month and it really is a handfull its spinning the rear wheels going into 4th
ps heated seats are front only but have the electric lumbar support on them

also side steps and le-mans flare kit to go on am going to be busy the next few weekends
