Hi folks this is my first post, not even done a newbie post yet. I've just bought a '62 plate X3 F25, picked it up last weekend, and I'm already in need of advice.
A pheasant made acquaintance with my nearside headlight at 50mph and left quite a sorry mess. The lens is smashed to bits so the unit needs replaced. I don't fancy paying BMW parts or labour costs for this one.
I've been searching the web for a DIY how to but I haven't come up with much. The only videos I can find are for the E83. I've established that the front bumper needs to come off to remove the headlight unit and from a post of bimmerfest I've got an idea of where all the fixings are. I'm fairly mechanically minded, do a lot of my own maintenance, so I'm happy to give it a go but I was wondering if anyone here had taken the front bumper off before and if they had any advice, pitfalls etc to look out for?
