Please can you code my x5 e70 2007 [SOLVED]

Post by rastarrph » Thu Feb 16, 2017 10:10 pm

hello community,

Please can someone help me with coding my car. It is purely for comfort features, such as auto folding of mirrors (the folding button is there). It is x5 e70 2007

I have tried to install the widely available obd leads + software package, vmware etc, but my laptop keeps crashing/freezing/failing.

I'm currently based in Cornwall, but am mobile.

Thanks in advance.

I bought the Carly app and adapter, it's easy to use on a tablet, ( or phone, but I've not used the phone as I have an iPad .It was only £35 for the app and £50 for the wifi adapter ( Apple devices, android use the Bluetooth adapter) works on Eand F series BMW s.
Idiot proof too, no software driver problems like I experienced with the BMW Scanner 1.4.0.
Ask the wife to get you one as a birthday present.

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and post this advice. It has worked a treat! I spent a day and half trying to sort out this virtual machine obd via laptop installation etc, but the experience with Carly was maybe 15 minutes. As soon as I saw your posts and read around it, I ordered next day on Amazon (£42) for the bluetooth adapter and then after testing the connection with the free Carly for BMW lite I downloaded the Pro lifetime version for £40. It was like opening a never ending menu in your favourite curry restaurant. option after option after option.

So I got the mirrors on fob (my main itch) done in 2 mins, comfort key eject, rain wipers to finish on engine cut, dash lights on always, increase angel eyes, harder breaking flashing, relock after one minute if no doors opened, driveaway lock, display digital speedometer, this that and everything else, quite fun! my wife actually complained she had lost her husband on a Sunday.

So, as advised, just get a Carly and get it done yourself, lifetime ownership etc.

Thanks

Can a replacement FRM (footwell module ) be coded with Carly?

My e70 is throwing error codes on start up, Rear Fog Lights left and right faulty, Two stage brake lights faulty, No headlight washer and no heated mirrors. My mate ran a diagnostic with INPA software and it is saying that the footwell module is goosed.

I have ran a diagnostic with Carly and get the same result and some of the codings i have tried make no difference to the vehicle, I am trying to avoid dealer prices so was wondering if i obtained a replacement FRM then would i be able to code it myself using the Carly app?

Thanks  Bob
