Post by aneeque27 » Tue Feb 28, 2017 2:00 pm

hi guys,

brake pads are now due on my X5 3.0D. i was wondering which brakes pads to use. I currently have Zimmerman brake pads. do you have any other recommendations? Bosch , Brembo or Eicher Premium?

Thanks

I've got ferodo pads and discs on mine and they dont seem to be any problems at all .... when i bought the x5 it had cheap pads on the front and they made a terrible racket

i honestly dont think there is a huge amount between good brands as long as they're e90 spec

Standard fit are Pagid or Textar, but plenty of alternatives.  If happy with Ferodo then stick with them  :)

I think my E53 had one make for discs and the other for pads.

Unfortunately I don't know what's on mine, I say that because they've done 20k, less than half worn and still no lip on the discs and I'm well happy with that. Very low amount of brake dust.

I have Pagid on mine. Have used them many times and if you dig deep you will find they are OE for many manufacturers including BMW .

There is an  offer at eurocarparts @ the moment too.
