Headlight washers and rear demister.

Both not working on my 2006 3.0d Le Mans. Just today got all my suspension and tyre issues sorted and noticed the tell tale overspray on the bonnet not appearing. Both fuses are fine so for the washer I'm guessing it's the pump. Not expensive it seems so I guess it's just one of those things.
The demister never really worked that well and now seems to be pretty defunct. Electrical knowledge is zero. Any steps to follow for this and the washer?
Windscreen washer is fine.

Remove the pump from the screenwasher bottle and then remove the filter. To be honest its easier to disconnect all three pumps and filters and clean the filters and bottle out as stuff 'grows' in there and clogs up the filters. Disconnect the pipes from the pump at both the pump end and blow through to make sure there is no blockage. Do that before you assume its the pump. Even if it is the pump the job needing doing anyway and this is a perfect time.

OK thanks. I thought there was only two pumps attached to the rear of the reservoir. I'll need to check out some YouTube vids and diagrams. I have noticed some dampness on the driver side carpet. This may be the cause.

There are two at the rear and one on the passeger side of the reservoir. You will also need to remove the needle float thingy that determines the fluid level, do it carefully, twist to unlockit it as I recall.

[/quote]was trying to trace leak around 'bottle myself, suspected seals/pumps also noticed low pressure on jets's ,so left 30mm water in bottle added two table spools of bleach left overnight then added hot water next morning, heh presto all ok no leaks and good jets again.

Make sure you get all of the bleach out of the system now as it will damage the materials, and the paintwork!  Worth doing a very thorough flush if not already done.

If there was gunge in there the bleach will only dislodge some of it, not dissolve it so as stuff settles the problem will come back unless you clean out by dismantling as I said

To be honest I was going to let this thread die of natural causes. Realised soon after that the lights need to be on for them to work. It's the TR 10 scenario all over again.
Been a bit stressed over ball joints and control arms you understand. That's all good now......seven hours attempting to release the ball joint to no avail. Let the garage take over.  New Toyos all round and it's as tight as a drum.
I had a good look over the reservoir so I know what to do next time I find myself imagining symptoms that only exist in my world.

As to the damp carpet. Probably the membrane on the door. Drivers handle quite stiff and I guess has been replaced at some point. Found this delightful DIY attempt....

Was just explaining that they seem to be fine. Was using them when the lights were off hence no jets of water. Thought I'd post up some pics of earlier work. Who doesn't like photos in a post after all.
