Performance kit & Tow Hitch

Post by BullyB » Sat Feb 18, 2017 7:54 am

I'm a bit excited as I have just traded my E70 in for a F15
F15 for the dogs, 996 C4S for road trips, Defender for the mud & E36 M3 for the track

Hi as far as I am aware you can't get the clearance required from the carbon defuser with the factory fit tow bar not sure if it's because of the way the tow bar deploys when you press the button or if the hitch will foul when connected to the caravan etc

Hope this helps a little

This is my concern.
There are a few aftermarket detachable ones so possibly they may fit.

I wonder how hard it is to remove the diffuser every time I need to tow..?

See if it is held on with plastic rivets?

The aftermarket Westphalia models are the equivalent of OEM.  You may also need to cut the rear bumper too.

Collect it on Thursday so will take a look then.

I have just seen that the Part number for the E70 and F15 detachable tow hitch is the same on PH Jones.
I'm therefore going to take the old one off the E70 tomorrow and keep it.
I'm sure the BMW dealer won't notice...
