Parking brake switch flew off... best place to order replacement?

Post by boy2k » Wed Jan 25, 2017 8:06 am

Hi Guys,
seems the parking brake switch finally flew off on me lol...
It still works but it lifts off now as the pin inside seems to have gone/snapped/vanished.
I have heard its quite common and checking up it looks easy to swap.

Best price i have on a new one is £60, does anyone know of anywhere better to order from?
I don't want a used part as it would just fail again quicker.

Cheers guys.

Yeah its pretty annoying to live with lol... keep pulling it off (ohh err) when i park...

It was £48.47 delivered which is a decent price i think.
Annoying to have to buy a new one but that's another issue :)

Just fitted mine, so it was... easy-ish :D

Actual replacing it was simple and only a few bolts. The tricky time consuming part was removing the center plastic surrounding it without damage. I was prob being a bit too gentle but yeah its all done and always feels good to do yourself.

Made me want to tackle a cic/nbt mod... :o lol

I've done the CIC controller mod on my 3 series. Fancy doing the full CIC retrofit, but it's a whole bag of worms to do DIY as coding is involved.
It's easier to navigate now I've fitted  the CIC controller. Needs to have had a late version software upgrade to work though. Mines a 2007 and worked fine.Image
