Heated seats stopped working (sorted)

Post by moggyboy » Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:56 pm

I posted this in error on the E53 page which yielded a great amount of constructive help but naturally when it came to where stuff is etc differences arose.
So here I am on the right page........... any ideas anyone.

E70 2010 comfort seats. Both stopped working at the same time. Where are the fuses and what are the numbers?
No warning on the dash so perhaps they are aftermarket?
Control switches are also on the seat sides and not the console which the E53 guys think indicate aftermarket?
Any help as always is very much appreciated.

Sounds aftermarket as the seat heater switches should be part of the climate control panel if specced. You'll probably have to chase the wires from the switch to see where they are wired to, could be anywhere if aftermarket..

Switches should indeed be in the centre front control panel so you have aftermarket.  Shame if someone spent money on Comfort seats and then skimped on the heaters.  I have them on mine, but the heating was a cost option

Well I'm a happy bunny now.
Whilst I was replacing a rear light unit I thought I'd have a quick poke around the fuse board in the boot and hey presto a wire was sat looking lonely and not hooked up. Plugged it into the adjacent 25amp slot and bingo.
Boy have I missed those heated seats.
I'snt it nice when you fix something without spending money.
