Just ordered a new X5

After two years in a X4, I am back to the X5. The X4 was in for its first service and I said I was not happy with the lacquer lifting on the rear wheels, two new wheels were ordered under warranty, later that day I had a call to say the wheels were on back order and would take ten months, inacceptable!

I went to another dealer and ordered a new X5, with the following spec -
30d
Sapphire black
Ivory white leather
Tow bar
Heater steering wheel
20" V spoke wheels
Panaramic roof
Sun protection glass
Comfort seats
American oak trim
High beam assistant
Surond view
Park assist
Reversing camera

Delivery in March, hence missing the £310 additional tax per year.

The X4 was ok but it's not a X5!

Done well to get a unallocated build slot so close to spec lock down, which will be very close given a March delivery!

I'm surprised you listed the reverse camera as an option, as it's now standard fit for all X5 from week 1 build, as is the base audio now being the BMW Advanced audio.

I think you are right GeeRam, the reverse camera is listed at £0 on the spec sheet the same as the radio.

While it will be a drag until delivery Mogsman, I am very aware that this will be the shortest time in over 25 years I have had to wait for the build of a BMW.

I've been reading the forum just got a 40d myself 16 plate, when was the sound system upgraded? Would a 16 plate already have it? It has reversing camera as well

Sound system upgrade and reversing camera as standard fit was introduced from 2017 build week 1, so no, a 16 plate car wouldn't have got this.
They were still extra cost options on a 16 plate car.
