Anybody changed the steering wheel angle sensor on a 4.6?
I have a few lights on my 4.6, codes point to steering wheel angle sensor, has anybody had this done? If so how much did it cost?

Yes its not difficult as you split the steering column to get it off. Make sure you get the steering wheel at the correct angle when you put it back >:( >:( Took me about an hour as you have to work upside down, if you do it yourself it will need coding into the car when you are done. Sensor was under £100 but that was about 5 years ago

Might I ask what codes you have that point you in that direction. Only ask so as to try and increase the knowledge base.

Just adding this in case it's relevant... have no experience with the angle sensor on my x5 but i do remember having a code along the lines of "steering angle sensor implausible" on my e46 after some alignment work was done. I was able to re-calibrate the sensor with BMW scanner 1.4.0 and that solved the issue.

Update: had the codes deleted and all lights have gone off. Happy days.
