Bought my 06 2.0d in Jan this year.
All I have had to spend was £110 for a service. £54 for new MAF , fitted myself.
Had a little stumble on the power at about 1500rpm.
I have had it remapped and DPF removed ( swirl flaps done) it is smoother, much better acceleration and gives me 35mpg around town. It smoked more after the dpf removal, until I started using BP Ultra , now it's improved a lot.
Only fault I have just had is the audible warning beeper on the reverse has stopped ? Any ideas ?
All in, a very good first year with my X3, would definitely have another.
We bought at 89k with FSH , it's now on 101k.

First year with my X3
Re: First year with my X3
Hi
That a good result on any X or even any car, and the MAF. Is fairly common on them.
It is also interesting the improvement in the smoke with the switch to BP ultra, so as others have said they put additive to petrol and it is obvious there are different results.

had ours a year this week. done around 7k miles at an indicated 39.7mpg. no problems to report, no mod, no breakdowns.
its always had a bit of transmission clunkiness when gently accelerating between 15 and 30 mph though. got no worse or better - reminds me of my old discovery. Not there if you accelerate hard or once cruising.
overall, very pleased.
