Newbie needs help

Post by Gavsx5 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 5:05 am

Hi guys
Just bought a 2004 53 3ltr diesel sport
Got a few issues to look at.
1. Drivers door window not working, I've tried the hold unlock button so all windows go down then hold lock button so all go up all work except drivers door,
So thinking it's not the switch, have to look into it more
How long do I need to disconnect battery for before I can disconnect door airbag.

2,keep getting check tail lights message come up but all lights working.
Any ideas?

3, want to fit these new type aftermarket projector lights but can only seem to find the ones that fit to the headlights without xenon and self adjustment,

You don't need to unplug the airbag- just unbolt it and turn it round so you have access into door. Check for power at the window switch first then go from there.
Tail light message- remove the rear light clusters and clean all the bulb contacts thoroughly.
I wouldn't waste your cash on headlights- save it to fix other things that will go wrong..

You can get by just moving the airbag if you don't plan extensive work, but to answer your question, disconnect the battery and leave for 2 minutes before unplugging any seat or door plugs or any component of the safety system

And do not reconnect the battery if any airbag is disconnected.  It will throw up a warning light that needs either Dealer or specialist reset.
