Interior Trim Wrapping
Re: Interior Trim Wrapping
One of the reasons for wanting to do it is that the previous owner, although as a whole looked after the car very well, there are a lot of dings, scratches, etc to the trim parts. I am quite keen to know how much it may cost to get it sprayed or perhaps replacing it all together?

Cheers pal
You feeling ok?
Funny you should say that as i'm sitting at home bored out of my scull (hense the daytime posts) i was fitting a floor yesterday in work and my knee decided to give up the ghost ba@>?rd thing is killing me.It happens every now and then and just swells up so it hurts like s'/t when you move your leg.
How's the knee now x555. If it happens again wrap a bag of frozen peas around it for 20 mins ( not directly on the skin ). This will reduce swelling and is also a great for pain relief. Repeat every couple of hours. Works a treat. Been doing this on my back and shoulder now for 15 months since my bike accident.
Hi Kena (sorry all of topic again )...thanks for the help mate i have had this happen before so did exactly what you said and got some ice on it but i did put it direcly on the skin so i know not to now it happens every now and then being on my knees a lot with work and just flames up.
The quack gave me some anti inflamatorys so all is well now......back to work Not nearly as serious as your injury mind mate hope all is well with that.
BTW hows the lad doing with his skating?

Sorry Avtar.......right back on topic......replacing it from stealers would be ridiculously expensive i would have thought so i would either take it out and respray it myself or have a bodyshop do it.I'm guessing around the £100 mark for the paint and labour??? though i will add if the centre console trim is as awkward to get out as the e53 one it's a PITA of a job.Been there done that

If I'm honest the console removal is the only reason I haven't wrapped mine yet.

IIRC there are a couple of tiny torx screws holding it in place ...size 10 torx i think...you have to lie in the footwell and shine a torch up when the cup holder is out.

Re: Interior Trim Wrapping
What about the ash tray mate ?
Re: Interior Trim Wrapping
Ashtray comes out with the whole centre console Pewters. Then some screws behind allowing the lot to come out. Easy when you get that console out. My last mod if I do it I think. Torn between spray and wrap????

Re: Interior Trim Wrapping
I think I would be tempted to wrap rather than spray... it would be better finish I think and maybe more hard wearing too?
Can the trim come off the Auto Gear knob? I have asked this at the BMW dealers and they thought I would have to order a whole new knob specifying the correct leather!
Turks.

Re: Interior Trim Wrapping
Tart! I like the wood (don't mind you mentioning it)!
I like the gloss finish as the light bounces off the interior pieces - spray and laquer would give me that but I like the carbon fibre wrap, just it isn't gloss finished and not too sure on all that black...?
