tyre pressures

Post by the shreksta » Thu Dec 15, 2016 5:35 pm

i have a 2004 x5 3.0d sport with the staggered 19" standard wheels with nearly new michelin diamaris tyres, to me they always look like they need air in them, they always look kinda flatish.

what should the correct tyre pressure be for the car?

The sticker on the the drivers door jarm of my car doesn't list 19".
I have only just got the x5 with 19"and would like to know what others put in as i have put mine at 32psi all round.

That's interesting considering wheels offered were from 17" to 21".  2.2bar (~32psi) was the 'norm' from memory unless heavily loaded.  It's what I ran my 19" staggered set at.

Mine are the 19" staggered so 32psi is ok then no wear problems then ?.

I had even tyre wear all round on mine.  Michelin Diamaris and used two sets in 53,000 miles.

I found that the last set of Diamaris tyres had uneven wear around the circumference and also more wear in the centre (I've found this with other Michelins on my E46) so I changed these out for Latitude Sport 3.
Pressures 2.2 bar; check at least every two weeks. I got 26k front and 18k rear from the Diamaris set but have since then changed most of the rear suspension, so no wear data of significance. Also, currently running Nokian Weatherproof SUV on my spare 17s - so far these are extremely impressive.
