Hi all, new to the forum, does anyone in the Glasgow area have diagnostic software? Got trans failsafe on my 2004 X5 after a battery change, thanks in advance  :)

Is the new battery fully charged?  If not that may trigger the false warning.

Yes fully charged, is there anyway to do do a hard reset on the trans without software?

It should clear itself if a false flag.  If it is still there then you will need something to check the warnings stored.  Is the car running normally or are you in 'limp' mode (stuck in 3rd or 5th)?  If normal then you aren't in Failsafe'.
