90p a Gallon!!
90p a Gallon!!
This could be good news for V8 owners especially... but it is years away unfortunately.
90p a Gallon
If it works and starts being produced then it could mean the end for diesels do you think?

Re: 90p a Gallon!!
Assuming the oil producers don't snap up the patent, government taxes will bring it into line with other fuels.
I can remember when cooking oil was dirt cheap, before people used it as a substitute for diesel.

90p a Gallon!!
Trouble is if you take all the taxes of petrol now it would be as cheap. So after they have loaded it up I can't see there being much difference.

Can only agree with responses thus far re taxation & would also comment that the story seems to focus on a pipedream.

90p a Gallon!!
The government couldn't afford not to tax it as high they would lose so much revenue with the reduction in oil based fuel sales.

Re: 90p a Gallon!!
Damn right, the headline is just a carrot... duty would definitely be applied to this without question...
Not only that, I don't think hydrogen is the 'clean' fuel people make it out to be... it is extracted from water using electric, lots of it. Electric is made by coal burners and nuclear etc... not enough green electricity production to make hydrogen extraction green.
Turks.

Re: 90p a Gallon!!
It always makes me laugh when I read about electric cars and their batteries, has anyone had to replace a laptop battery (same technology as electric car batteries) now multiply that cost by 100+ for the car every year or two, soon becomes a non-starter, but this never gets mentioned in the papers. I wonder why.
Anyway keep the oil based fuel going as it keeps me in a job ;-D
