I have noticed that on my newly acquired 3.0d, the turbo whistles whilst getting up to steady road speed from a cold start - can't be heard unless the window is open, isn't loud and intrusive and is actually quite pleasant-sounding !?

Problem or Not?
Re: Problem or Not?
My 2005 E53 does it too and always has. Sounds like normal to me.
I can't hear either of the turbos on the X6 even with the window open which I take it means the sound proofing is good, the whistle is out of my hearing range, or I'm a deaf old git (the wife's choice). They're definitely working coz the car goes like a 2tonne missile.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Problem or Not?
Hi
Sounds normal to me. I could always hear mine quietly and it became more audible after it was remapped. Suppose you could call it comforting
