Interior trim

Post by steve853 » Fri Nov 25, 2016 1:19 pm

Hi all,,

I am wondering if anyone can help with an interior trim issue I have. I have a 2007 X5 D SE and the top of my glove box has a section of trim missing. It looks like a single plastic panel covered with leather/ effect black material, can anyone help with sourcing a new/ second hand one?

I am the newest of newbies, having just bought an X5 20 minutes ago!

Regards

Steve

This is an easy fix,
Check out ebay for this bit as a 2nd hand part... it is a simple push fit.
You may have to buy a set of dash parts, but it won't be expensive.

I covered mine in carbon film wrap to get rid of the sun reflection glare.

Must admit, to have this trim missing is MOST unusual...

If you need to identify the part number, use Realoem (on line copy of BMW parts database) and use the last 7 characters of your VIN to get the right model up.  Bits you want will be in the Interior section - which has exploded views.

Steve853

I just this moment did an E-bay search - "X5 E53 dash trim" and it came up with 9 offerings, in all wood variants + silver & single pieces....
and they were all top of the search list.
It's all there ,  just gotta look for it.

Thanks everyone.

The issue I have is that I am indeed a muppet, and have posted this question in the E53 forum not the E70 forum.

And there was me hoping for a quick, inexpensive fix...
