Rear suspension - air bag issues.

Post by Nine468 » Sun Oct 30, 2016 2:10 pm

Hi.
My car has been parked up for a few days,
Just came to it this morning and the rear is sat very low.
Im guessing I have the dreaded air bag leak.?
Although,,, both sides are low not just one, Is there a valve arrangement under the car somewhere that controls the pressure, or maybe its that both air bags have failed at the same time.?
Anybody had the same problems.?

Oh and the compressor does inflate the bags back to full height, once the ignition I switched on...

Hi,same thing happened to me but it was only one bag that was leaking,if you can afford it i would do both at same time,as the other bag failed on mine about 5 months later, hope this helps.

I've had Areosus on the beast for over 3 years and no issues.

My rear suspension goes down on random occasions, BMW specialist can't find any problems with the bags/compressor so i just live with it for now.

They do a £200 spring conversion for the E53, worth looking into if there is one available for the E70, as the E71 is available with rear springs.

E71 is standard with no air suspension, though it could ordered for the price of a small hatchback!  Check the kits though as the rear axle assembly is very different to the E70.
