Heater blower always on

Post by Lofty » Sun Oct 30, 2016 10:01 pm

Does anybody know why the heater blowers always turn on as soon as the ignition is turned on. Bmw are telling me its meant to happen but can't tell me why. Why would you want cold air blowing out as soon as the ignition is turned on. It only seems to be the x5 (f15) this happens on. Does anyone know how to stop this. Thanks

Check the temperature settings on the A/C. If you've set high, like 21c or so it may be that.

Also, try turning the A/C off when you start.

Tried temp high and low a/c off, a/c on.  Blowers will always be on. Then takes up to 10 pushes of the off button to actually turn off. BMW tell me it's a characteristic of the X5 that blowers are always on and need to wait before turning off. Seems strange that's friends car doesn't do it. I've tried saving profiles with it off but makes no difference.
