X5 Iperformance

Post by touring » Tue Nov 15, 2016 12:36 pm

X5 Iperformance, I am considering this model, has anyone on this forum got one?

I am interested how it feels to drive - pull and live with. I do not want high horse power, but lots of toque, I do a very low annual mileage, can a 2.0ltr drive like a 40d? (similar hp)

Views appreciated

Hi

I not sure if anyone has a 40e on here and on BMW website there is not much on the performance of 40e as I guess this model is about economy rather than performance.

I did find this exert from the Frankfurt show report on the X5 hybrid.

As we reported in August, the X5 eDrive Concept combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine of unknown output with a 95-horsepower electric motor, to achieve longer range and lower emissions. The X5 eDrive can drive up to 75 miles per hour and 19 miles on electric power alone, manage about 62 miles per gallon (3.8 liters per 100 kilometers) and accelerate from 0-62 mph in under seven seconds, according to BMW.

From the 0-62 times it is similar to th 30d and slightly slower than the 40d but the benefit a lower running cost possibly and better for the environment.

Whilst doing a search BMW do offer test drives for the Iperformance and it's probably worth having one to get a realworld feel.

Thanks Graeme, yes I will take a test drive, just thought I would get the views from an existing owner.
The trouble with test drives is, they rarely represent living with a car, I thought the X4 would be a logical downsizing for the X5, it was a BIG step down, my mistake!
