Media Player Via Aux In

I was hoping that the USB connection in the centre console would allow me to play video media on the screen but unfortunately my X6 has the CIC module which apparently won't allow this.
If I was to purchase one of these media players http://kjglobal.co.uk/acatalog/DVP-260.html
would I be able to do this via the aux in connection.
The X6 has a dvd player fitted as standard.

I did have one of these players installed in my E53 X5 many years ago and it worked flawlessly

The CIC iDrive certainly can play media, as mine does, but only via the centre console USB port with the right cable.  There is an issue with the Apple lightning connector as it doesn't configure correctly, whereas the old Apple  multi pin connection works fine.

What it won't play is some DRM protected material, or on the move.  It won't play from a conventional media external system such as a DVD player either.  BMW offered a stupidly expensive mid mounted system for that.

Apple original is all I have now, but as long as they are MFI Approved I think that means the match Apple's spec.....and are a fraction of the price too.

Ah right, so you need an old iPhone 4 or 4s. I have plenty of the leads from past iPhones but i now have an iPhone 6 with the lightning connector. These don't configure as apple removed the video out pin from them and you have to use air play now from the lightning devices. Thanks for the help and advice.
