Observations having had the car for a week

Post by BMPHIL » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:30 pm

M50D report.
Mark G has already given a great run down on his car.

My observations are:

Ride comfort great, comfort seats fantastic. MPG is around 34, I typically got 39 out of my 535D (mainly motorway) expect the figure to go up to 35, so only 4 or 5 short of the old car and given the BHP/NM pretty good.

iDrive: new version superb, HD screen much better. RTTI, on the previous model you could clearly see the colour coding of roads NOT on the route advised, it is there but harder to see, so not as good.

On-Line entertainment- fantastic option

Ride comfort is very good and better than the 535D M Sport due to suspension options.

Incoming telephone level, low, even having adjusted to maximum

ASD: still not sure it is working, but need to test on another car to compare

Surround view and front camera very good.

Glad you can adjust the boot lift height as on max this would smack the garage door!

Sunroof: very flexible options so pleased to have chosen

Torque is immense and I expect the engine to loosen up a little

Pleased to have taken out service pack and get a tracker and the detailing. Have now spent a fortune on recommended care products :yikes:

Low telephone level - if an iPhone then you may need to turn it up on the phone too.  I have had that issue in three cars and always found it was the level on the phone that was the cause.  May be the same on Android units but have never owned one.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
