Speaker Upgrades

Anyone done it yet?

I have the basic speaker set up (about the only thing the original buyer didn't spec up) which to be honest, is a lot better than any OEM audio I've ever had, including the HK system in my E46

But things can always be improved.

The only upgrades I'm finding through google though seem to be ludicrously expensive. It's like jumping from a caravan to a mansion.
Surely other people have found midrange (price) speaker that fit?

Nah, that's too much and a bit of a pain in the future if any go pop (found out the hard way on the e46)

Just curious if any one has swapped out like for like speakers. No amps or anything, just a mild upgrade on what's already there.

Doesn't sound like a well trodden route from searching the internet.
