Hi.
On a couple of occasions in the past week, when I start my X5, the orange warning cog appears in the dash. It goes out after 10-15 seconds.
Has anybody experienced this? I'm slightly concerned it will manifest itself into something costly.
I have used the Carly app but only get 9D48 fault code which could be relevant.
My car is 2008 3.0d with 115,000. Despite repeatedly questioning my BMW dealer over the past few years, the transmission fluid has never been changed.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Orange cog
Indicates a transmission fault. Probably worth sending the fault log to Carly to get them to check it. I've goggled it with no success (so far) :-[
BMW have 'sealed for life' boxes so Dealer will not change it at any service. It should be done every 60k miles. The BMW 'life' is just the warranty period (3 years) - not much use really!

Re: Orange cog
Thanks for your reply. I've googled the code earlier today and couldn't find anything. Good call about sending to Carly - I'll do that.
Yes - BMW have repeatedly told me it's sealed for life and won't change the fluid unless there is a problem. Concerned that changing it at 115k may cause further problems.
