Been to look at 2008 BMW 730d M Sport

Post by Simon » Thu Jul 28, 2016 7:38 pm

Hi chaps,

As the title suggests really, just wondering if anyone has ever had or got one to pass comment on? I must admit I've never sat in anything with as much luxury before, I mean shining the BMW badge on the floor when you open the door!! :hypo:
TIA

I had a 1998,7 series(E38 I think) with the  V8 engine, beautiful car, but seats too large (one slid around in them) also steering vague, not the same set up as the 5 series.
Basically a motorway cruiser, not suited to windy roads.

I've always wondered if I would go for a 7 series, they are fully loaded and look great value for the money. As Lez stated these Large  exec cars can be a bit barge like. I had an E60 5 series with comfort seats, that was a nice car ( once I'd ditched the run flats )
Take one out on a test drive and see how it feels.

My father has had two now.  A stunning black 08 plate 730d sport e65, and an 09 plate 730d se, the e65 100% was the better drive of the two, and I used it a few times. Didnt feel overly big for town etc ( I had e70 X5 at the time ).

Lovely cars, can only recommend!!!

Tiny parking spaces tend to be a bit of a nuisance with these very large cars - we have an Audi S8, a lovely D2, similar in many ways to the 7 series - spends much of its time on the drive these days, plugged into a Ctek, unless my partner, who has a Blue Badge, wants to use it.  Great spec and luxury but very impractical for town driving. Even though the 4x4s are large, they seem to be easier to fit into undersized parking places!

7 series looks great, I'd definitely consider one if I was doing a lot of motorway driving, the nearest I've had to a 7 series was a Mercedes S320 courtesy car I had a few years ago and it was superb.
