Grinding/roaring noise at low speed

Post by E53diesel » Thu Sep 22, 2016 8:39 pm

I have a 2004 auto & recently started getting vibrations around 15-25mph, the front wheel bearing last have been done so it's not them. Looking at YouTube there's videos about striped driveshaft splines, I'm just after a bit of info before I get shafted by the local mechanic.

Just to add, it's a low grinding noise, that sends vibrations through the steering wheel. It's stops after a certain speed. It feels as if the is some resistance on acceleration until it 'catches' before returning to normal performance

driveshaft splines or cv joint .... doesnt really matter which tbh because youll need to change the front cv to cure either problem
