Change or not to change ??

Post by Pyth » Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:09 am

My 40d is 2 1/2 years old, only done 20k miles but thinking about changing for new one, similar spec.  Had a chat with a dealer and they have made me a very good offer to p/ex on a few 40d's in stock but I'm guessing that they are not the 2017 spec.  I'm just wondering if it's worth waiting for a 2017 model or even wait until this time next year for the facelift.

Just not sure what to do, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I waited for the 2017 spec but only for the msport plus pack really. If you can find a car with all the toys you want it will look no different.

If it were me, I'd wait until the facelift simply because moving from broadly the same car may prove to be a bit underwhelming. Even if you get a great deal, I'm sure there will be some significant outlay so I'd be tempted to wait do something a little different.
Just my opinion but I've just moved from a 2008 Twin turbo X5 to a 2014, so a different shape altogether, and the only thing that I'm not delighted with is that is feels too similer to my old car,; if I close my eyes when I start it up, it could be the same car which sometimes make me think "why did I spend all this money" as my old car was pristine.
