Potential Purchase

Post by Lazerium » Thu Aug 25, 2016 1:49 pm

I'll kick of my first post by saying that I'm looking to potentially purchases an F15 but have few questions / things I could do with understanding a bit better!

I) Does anyone know why the deals advertised at the Peter Vardy dealer seem to be so much sharper than anywhere else?  Are the genuine? Do other dealers match them?

II) Based on a PCP deal my preference of an M50d with a few options works out not much less than an X5M! Is there any real reason (other than mpg) not to go for the X5M

III) Are there any options that are a must for resale?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome  ;)

I have a 50D on a boat currently and due to me on the 17th September.

I was advised by PVR (admin on this site) to use www.coast2coast.co.uk to purchase my car and it goes as follows:

You input the spec of the car you want and once you've submitted your details your details are passed to a BMW dealer (that's important!). They pay c2c to be provided with leads and guarantee to sell you that car at that price.

You only then pay c2c £300 as an 'introduction fee'

As it happens I was contacted by a dealer in the North of England who confirmed everything.

I then made contact with my existing dealer and made him aware of the c2c quote - cut a long story short I managed to get 22% off list on my car simply by having two dealer fight for my business 8)

My spec is as follows:

Customer      Martin Bennett
Model        KS82  F15 X5 M50d N57 3.0
Colour        A52    Space Grey                Metallic
Upholstery    LCSW  Black Dakota leather

Option        248    Steering wheel heating
Option        3AG    Reversing Assist camera
Option        322    Comfort Access
Option        4B9    Fine Brushed Aluminium interior trim
Option        402    Panoramic glass sunroof
Option        456    Comfort seats. front
Option        488    Lumbar support. driver and front pass.
Option        5AC    High-beam Assistant
Option        5AR    Traffic Jam Assist
Option        5AT    Driving Assistant Plus
Option        5DL    Surround-view
Option        552    Adaptive LED Headlights
Option        6NW    Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging
Option        6WD    WiFi hotspot preparation
Package      ZMS    M Sport Plus package (Sun Pro, HUD, harmon/kardon, Speed-Limit Display and reduced price 20" alloys)
Pack Alt      2V9    20" M Double-spoke style 468M alloy wheels (£325)

And due to build dates mine also has the new iDrive and Apple Play etc.

I'm not sure what is a 'must' but I understand the roof is a good option, 7 seats probably is but I didn't spec those. Aside from that I bought the car i want, not one that someone else would like  ;)

I'm currently driving an F10 M5 and I suppose it would the X5M that I would look at however I'm currently getting 18mpg and I guess the M won't be much more than 13 or 14 at best given its weight.

Once you have a good look at deals around, the 50D can be heavily discounted, the M not so much and to be honest the 50D provides a lot of power in standard form.

Hi there,

The Peter Vardy deals are legitimate, I bought an X6 40d msport in January which was a factory order to my spec, then I got £7500 discount & around £1k more for my X5 than I was getting at any other dealer, try the coast 2 coast route but from what I have seen on their website the m50d has around a £15k discount straight away with a low rate Pcp, only issue I had with mine was the rear bumper was badly scratched prior to collection & I stupidly took the car, they did repair it but it had to be done twice & it's still not 100%, but that's maybe just in my head as I know it has been painted.

To sum up I would call them & chat the deal through but they normally don't value yours until they see it, ideally you would not have a trade in & get the best discount going.

Interested to know how you get on.

Malc.
